Explore Ballona! Education Program

Friends of Ballona Wetlands’ Explore Ballona! educational program maximizes experiential learning to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards. Used on site at the wetlands and in classrooms throughout Los Angeles County, the program’s standards-based curriculum for Grades 1-6 facilitates dynamic real-world learning that supports teachers’ goals while engaging entire families. FBW consistently honors DEI principles and prioritizes expanding the program into additional Title 1 schools, which already are represented by 70% of program participants.
