Supermarkets face a growing technician shortage at a critical time when new regulatory requirements are driving an industry-wide transition away from high global warming potential refrigerants. The shrinking technician workforce is creating a bottleneck, slowing the transition to climate-friendly technologies, threatening to disrupt essential operations and food security. This project will address the technician shortage by providing refrigeration training on new climate-friendly refrigeration technologies to school faculty teaching HVACR programs.
